The Potters House Nottingham first opened on Saturday March 19th 2000 with a gospel concert, the next day Pastor Nicolas Kyriacou (the present Pastor) began a series of revival meetings. The Church has gone from strength to strength over the ensuing years.
The Church is part of the Christian Fellowship Ministries founded and led by Pastor Wayman Mitchell, Senior Pastor of The Potter’s House Church of Prescott, Arizona, USA. The church in Prescott is the mother church of an entire fellowship of churches that is also known as The Potter’s House, Victory Chapel, and The Door. The Fellowship includes more than 2000 congregations, reaching into each continent of the world for souls. There are Fellowship churches in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, South America and North America. The Prescott Church has since it’s birth established and followed the biblical pattern of evangelism, discipleship and church planting.
In 1985, a couple were sent from The Potters House in Perth Australia to start a new church in Walthamstow, East London. Following the same pattern that had been set in Prescott and Perth Australia, they also established a foundation of evangelism, discipleship and church planting. The church has grown into a congregation of over 600 members and is responsible for overseeing the 107 Potters House churches that currently operate in the U.K.. It also has planted a number of churches overseas including Guyana, South Africa, Nigeria, Trinidad and Jamaica.
We in Nottingham are the direct result of the investment and labour of the our mother church in Walthamstow. Pastor Kyriacou says ‘ as the Pastor of the Nottingham congregation, I am dedicated to this great cause of evangelism, discipleship and church planting. I believe that our Church here in Nottingham, will be defined by the same biblical pattern and purpose of evangelism, discipleship and church planting that has seen the favour and blessing of God in so many of our Churches.’
